T580: SSD PCIe lane question

2019-02-24, 15:45 PM

I have a lenovo T580 and I am trying to figure out if my machine is nvme pcie x4 lane capable. Using crystaldiskinfo, I see my adata nvme drive is using x2 but is x4 capable.  How do you check or change any of these settings in windows 10? Any help appreciated! Thanks!

I appreciate you taking time to look at this for me, can I ask how you came across the information and how I can verify it on my machine?

Please look at the M.2 SSD spec on the PSREF here:

I hope this helps.

That was moved but I found it googling for "thinkpad 580 platform specifications".

Is there ANY Lenovo 15" laptop that has X4 ? How would I find them?

Several, including the latest versions that support gen 4 SSDs.  Have a look around https://psref.lenovo.com/.
