ThinkPad Power Manager v2.36

2008-10-18, 14:11 PM

Hi, I recently accidentally uninstalled the Power Manager on my laptop, a T400 (Product ID: 2768AA6). I managed to find version 2.36 of the above-mentioned program on the Lenovo website and re-installed it.

However, even though the Power Manager program has started, the battery gauge on the taskbar does not appear until a long time after my computer has started. The battery gauge used to appear together with the taskbar when I first bought my ThinkPad.

Attempts to start the Power Manager Battery Gauge by trying to start 'PWMUIAux.exe' also failed, from what I observe in a program called Process Explorer, 'PWMUIAux.exe' starts up and then shuts down almost immediately.

Is anyone able to tell me what is wrong with my copy of Power Manager or anything else for that matter? And also how to get my battery gauge to work right again?

Hello,

I would recommend to uninstall new version,

then restart and clean your registry with TuneUp Utillities.

You´ll find your old powermanager in C.\SWtools.

Don´t update, if your system runs satisfactionally then.:smileyhappy:

I can't find the old Power Manager installed in the directory that you gave me..are there any better ideas? I don't think its any problem with the Power Manager software..more of a Windows problem..

@Chengjoo

yes, some powermanager versions are showing this behavior and the battery symbol needs some time.

It varies from version to version. Some older versions are faster.
