ThinkPad T430s not starting up

2020-12-28, 16:18 PM

I have my NTB for like a year now, he was in good shape. Suddenly like 1 week ago it just won't start up. When I pressed the power button lights will flash for 2 seconds or so and nothing will appear on the screen and then it will shut down. I tried to remove both batteries and boot it up from AC only, same results.

Tried these tricks and still nothing.

  • Remove the battery
  • Remove the AC adapter
  • Press the power button 10 times
  • Then, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
  • Connect the AC adapter (no battery!)
  • Try booting again

Even tried removing Hard disk, memory, wlan.

It gave me code that I cannot decode even with my mobile.

What I catched from the code: "._..._..._."

Does anyone know what I should do or what I should try next?

The beep code means no memory.  That would be expected if you removed the memory as you stated.  If you have 2 sticks, try them one at a time.  If you have only 1, see if you can borrow one from someone.  Bad memory could be the cause.

Press and hold the laptop Power On button for 30 seconds, then release. Reconnect the backup battery and replace the cover. Reinsert the main battery, reconnect the adapter and try to turn on the laptop. If it starts there may be a message about resetting the date and time.

I assume you are not using PC3-8500 (1066 mHz) memory which won't work on that model.  It's hard to be sure without seeing it but it sounds like a motherboard problem.)
