Re: USB 2.0 data transfer : slow rates

2011-02-14, 19:38 PM

Ayayay... It looks like again the transfer rate is slow.  When I restarted the computer after installing the drivers everything went back to the "not normality"

How can I modify this percentage reserved for Windows?

Mine only reserves 10%... Do you have some strange USB device that tries to reserve lots of bandwidth?

W520: 2960XM, Q2000M @ 1091/1380, 32GB RAM, 500GB&750GB HDD & 500GB SSD, FHD&MB168B+
X61T: L7500, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, XGA screen, Ultrabase
W550s: 5600U, K620M at 1164/1281, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 3K touchscreen
X200s: SL9400, 6GB RAM, 64GB SD card, WXGA+ screen

Re: USB 2.0 data transfer : slow rates

I have 8 USB host controllers looking like this:

Intel(R) ICH9 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller: 293X (where X is a number or a letter.
6 of them are reserving 10% of the bandwidth, and 2 of them: concretely the 293A and 293B are reserving 20% of the bandwidth.
Can this create a problem?

Weird. My T400 shows 6 USBs and 2 USB2's.
Did you try updating your Intel chipset drivers?

I'd try manually downloading the chipset drivers and installing them anyway.

Exactly which devices are reserving the bandwidth? You might want to update or reinstall the drivers for those devices instead.

W520: 2960XM, Q2000M @ 1091/1380, 32GB RAM, 500GB&750GB HDD & 500GB SSD, FHD&MB168B+

The controllers : Intel(R) ICH9 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller: 293A and 293B are taking 20% of bandwidth. When I uninstall them on device manager. After the first install works good, but after restart not.

Re: USB 2.0 data transfer : slow rates

That's weird.

I have the following two:
Intel(R) ICH9 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 293A
Intel(R) ICH9 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 293C

Each of which has 20% reserved as well.

W520: 2960XM, Q2000M @ 1091/1380, 32GB RAM, 500GB&750GB HDD & 500GB SSD, FHD&MB168B+

W550s: 5600U, K620M at 1164/1281, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 3K touchscreen
X200s: SL9400, 6GB RAM, 64GB SD card, WXGA+ screen
