Hi Mohit M!

Welcome to community forums

Based on the list of tested compatible machines for the latest Windows 10 20H2, the Thinkpad T450 and T460 are not included. Check it here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht511260

Regards

Have checked the Thinkpad T460 and it  certainly exceeds the minimum standards for Windows 10 Pro 20H2 (Octoner 2020).  however, It does not  appear on your lists?  Given that our company has 1000 of these laptops still in service, have you tested the Thinkpad T460 with Windows 10 Pro 20H2 os (october 2020}? if not, when will this be done?  certainly you don't expect us to deem these as technically obsolete, when they are not.

Most likely it was tested already by our engineering team and you can see on the date when it was modified at the bottom right of the page. Based on their recommendation, the T450 can only upgrade up to  Windows 10 1903 while the T460 can upgrade up to Windows 10 1909 version.
T450: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht508488-lenovo-devices-tested-for-windows-10-version-1903-may-2019

T460: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht509394-lenovo-devices-tested-for-windows-10-version-1909-november-2019

Works well on an x201 so I don't see why it won't work on your notebooks.

Re:Upgrade to Windows 10 20H2

I too have a T450 that has 16GB RAM + 1TB SSD plus the larger docking station with numerous external devices including 2 extra monitors, 5 USB HD drives, Sound Card, and even more peripheral and utterly extremely disappointed that the only Windows 10 build that this supports is 1909 that MS is stopping support om May 11, 2021 in 10 days! I also have a Lenovo workstation P330 that is only 8 months old and it too will absolutely NOT upgrade. I swapped internal drives and added a video card. Another unsecured boat anchor?

Given the investment, and the 10 days left of security, I need to know if this is Lenovo's product support plan? To assume that customers will remain as customers and continue to drop good coin on required secured environments only to run into Lenovo perpetually and continuing turning a blind eye with ZERO explanation as to what might be the cause -- resulting in no support options. It seems to me that the well respected quality of IBM products drastically changed when Lenovo (China) took over to the point that this is what we must expect. Shoddy materials and shoddier support.

For comparison, I also have an ASUS G55 (Taiwan) that is over 2 years older than this Lenovo T450 notebook and the ASUS upgraded to the latest Windows 10 build with no issues whatsoever!

I will forever boycott Lenovo from this point forward.

Charly

Re:Upgrade to Windows 10 20H2

Pretty sad that IBM/Lenovo has gone from a top of the line premier company to this level.  The issue with Windows 10 20H2  causing blue screens, loss of audio, and loss of wifi  on the T450 and T460 is not because of Windows this time,  it's because your company have become to lazy or greedy to update drivers.

Furthermore, given that many of us also buy these machine for home/school use ( with the pandemic), its truly sad that your company recycles your off lease machines through MicroCenter and other vendors, without telling them your machines don't support updates. If you don't support updates on the laptops then stop recycling them into the marketplace.

Lenovo claims to be "Green friendly" and "concerned about climate change" - but clearly its just more CCP double-speak especially when there is a shortage of chipsets being manufactured at this time.  Rather than extending support (like HP, Dell, Fujitsu and Asus) Lenovo leaves its consumers swing in the wind.

So here's our Guarantee  to Lenovo,  we're just a small company with 70,000 users, but going forward  our families, employees and company will find a NEW manufacturer/ brand for our IT equipment.  Lenovo has lost our trust!
