Utra Dock prevents USB from working during Boot

2018-12-20, 10:21 AM

We have T460s, T470s, T560 and T570's that have problems with the keyboard and mouse during Booting the system. We use Bitlocker and we cannot enter the Bitlocker password via the attached USB keyboard. But we found a workaround....we add a USB HUB to the Ultra Dock....

We have attached 2 Eizo EV2450 monitors to the docking (one on DP/HDMI and one on DVI). They have a USB hub onboard. Only when we attach this hub via a USB cable to the Ultra Dock, the keyboard (which remains attached to the Ultra Dock and NOT to the Eizo Hub), we can use the keyboard during the boot sequence and enter the password for Bitlocker.

After booting, the keyboard/mouse works fine in Windows 7.

So, it looks like the USB's of the Ultra Dock need an extra HUB (although it is not used) to perform well.

Anyone else have this kinds of problems?

Btw: FW of the Ultra Dock is 2.33.000
