Want T500 optical drive initially off

2011-07-25, 17:56 PM

My T500 is doing great. I installed Win7, and I can configure and control what I want mostly. I would like to have the Optiarc AD-7910S off initially. I can click to "Eject", and the green light will go off, yet I can bring the drive alive later. I would like to have the drive light initially off automatically. Does somebody know how I might accomplish that?

Thanks

hey nonfiction,

the option to have your optical drive to be switched off can be done via the Power Manager.

Under Power Plan, System Settings > Automatic Optical Drive Power Off.

thanks for that info, I was wondering why sometimes my DVD drive would turn off. But it did come on when I inserted a DVD.

Thanks. I found it particularly found the light being on during sleep to be particularly irritating. The behavior is much better now.
