Re:What is difference between Lenovo Thinkpad T series and E series

Both series are business grade systems but they're aimed at different markets. T-series is aimed at large businesses and E-series is aimed at small/medium businesses. The T-series gets more enterprise management features like better docking and smart card support options. T-series also offers higher end CPU, graphics and screen options.

For instance E15 has only FHD screens while T15 offers up to UHD (3840x2160) resolution. This may be important for CAD applications if you use the native screen, but perhaps not so much if you have a large external monitor.

You have to compare specifications, prices, etc. Unless you need the extra T-series options, the E-series offers better overall value.

Re:What is difference between Lenovo Thinkpad T series and E series

I have worked on almost every single Laptop that Lenovo currently has out in the market right now and those letter designation is based on their performance. The P-T-X series are more higher end and used more frequently in business compared to the A-E-L series which are more predominately used in education centers such as schools. P series are the most bang for your buck series in most cases and have a stronger CPU which would be more suitable if you plan on heavily using programs such as AutoCad. T series are the most common but still perform decently. X computers tend to be more slim while still providing more or less the same performance as a T series laptop. If you're going down to the AEL laptops they're much lower performing while still giving the user a good experience for a cheaper price. However, if you're planning on needing space, power and performance they would not be the best for your needs. Some E series computer don't even come standard with an SSD or HDD for that extra space from what I've seen. Mind you I do work on a lot of school computer and most students don't need space on their actual computer as they mostly use these computer to work from a server. So the main difference is mostly processing power from what I have seen and experienced with these laptops.

Re:What is difference between Lenovo Thinkpad T series and E series

I'm looking at a third-party reseller offering of a well configured Gen 3 P series at an attractive price. Is the Gen 4 much of an improvement over a Gen 3?
