What's the slot on the left hand side, towards the front?

2010-02-04, 17:23 PM

There's a slot there, skinny and wide, which flexes whenever I put my left hand on the handrest.  i want to put something in it to stop it flexing, and I'm hoping that i can buy a plastic filler piece somewhere (like the one in my ExpressCard slot) but I don't know what it is.  Smart Card, perhaps?  Does anyone know if such a filler piece exists?

The "filler" piece is incorporated onto the keyboard bezel assembly for systems without the SmartCard Reader.  This part is not considered a CRU.

Bummer.  Is it supposed to flex, or should I assume that I got the one t510 around assembled by someone incompetent?  I don't see anyone else having flex issues, and i'm beginning to think I just got a bad one.
