Re: Why is adjusting trackpoint sensitivity no longer an option? I'm ready to return this thing!

Thank you so much for this reply. I do not have this setting available to me. Do you have some sort of Synaptics app installed? Possibly one that is in the Microsoft Store? I am trying to download it but it keeps saying download failed.

I know this might be asking a lot, but is there any way you can send me the Trackpoint app from your computer? You might be the only person on this planet that has this installed because for over a year of searching, nobody has once stated they have this option in their settings.

If not I understand but it would mean so, so much to me.

I don't use the TrackPoint, and have not downloaded anything for it.  What you see is from the default Lenovo install.  When I get the chance, I will look for an app on this system, and will update this reply if I do.

Thanks. However, I do believe if you have these extra options in your mouse settings in the "metro" mouse settings that there has to be some sort of Windows Store app installed. Similar to how I never downloaded the Dolby app from the Windows Store but it came with my ThinkPad.

I searched my system for "Synaptics", and the only app I found opens to the fingerprint manager (see below.)  If you give me some direction on where else to look, I'm happy to do so.

Hello. Hope I am not too late to reply. I figured out that you have to download one app from Microsoft store first. Here is the link:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/synaptics-trackpoint-control-panel/9pmhxs259541?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

Install it and then you can find the trackpoint sensitivity adjustment on the bottom of your mouse setting. But I have to say that this setting is just better than nothing. Even you increase the sensitivity to the highest, the feeling is still not like the old t430s.

I used successfully the registry edit you mentioned. Also posted the following in that original thread to see if it was still monitored. Maybe somebody here will have comments and solutions?

This suggestion did the job and was greatly appreciated!!  HOWEVER, I apparently made the mistake of installing today, because Lenovo said it was Critical, the latest version of the Synaptics UltraNav Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad which no longer has the key TouchThreshold in the registry. Here are latest and previous versions information:

Version          Build ID       Rev.    Issue Date

 -----------  --------    ----  ----------

 19.3.4.226   N23GZ18W    01    2020/07/07

 19.3.4.224   N23GZ15W    02    2020/05/13

Is there a way to insert the old TouchThreshold key with updated helpful value?

If not, is there a way to remove the 226 version and get somewhere the 224 version, presuming it is safe?

Unclear to me why the revision was critical. It seems to involve bunch of multifinger uses of trackpad which I have never used. Little red buttons forever! I have used them since IBM days on many IBM/Lenovo machines when they worked as originally and properly implemented with full control over the pressure needed to be applied.

Hope this once helpful thread is still checked by others.

Ignore this message. I couldn't delete the message so I'm just saying ignore it.

This worked! Thanks so much!

Install from that link above, restart, then in mouse settings there is a link for Synaptics Trackpoint settings.
