Re: Windows 10 creator update breaks Lenovo dock monitor output?

2017-08-23, 21:41 PM

I have been dealing with this for a while now and finally had success using the Intel Video drivers instead of the Lenovo supplied video drivers with the latest Cumulative Update for Win10 1703.

For Intel HD Graphics 5500 - use Intel 15.40

For Intel HD Graphics 520 and up - use Intel 15.45  - don't use the 15.46 version, I could not get them to work.

If you are using the lenovo drivers, remove the display adapter from Device Manager and make sure to check the box to uninstall the software - do not reboot.

Check for new hardware, do not let windows update install.  Should have a generic display driver and use the source files linked above as your update source.

My skylake Lenovo T460s with i5 6200U CPU's  says that is the incorrect version and will not install

Think pad Yoga with OneLink Dock here:

My problem is actually not that stuff goes wrong when I open or not open the lid, but that the sizing factor (100% / 125% / 150%) of the screen size does not adapt:

When using the internal screen I have that set to 125/150%, when using external monitor I need 100%.

I always only hibernate before docking/undocking.

And since the update this setting does not adapt to docked/not docked.

Very annoying.

We just started experiencing this same issue at my company.  Has a fix come out yet?

When Lenovo relayed that Microsoft had addressed the issue and and is incorporating the fix into the next Win10 release  (Fall Creartors update - 1709) we tried out the insider build and confirmed the resolution of our docking station monitor issue which had been observed on T440 - T470 test units running 1703 (all updates applied).    Our environment is still 1607 and we are eagerly anticipating the release of the docking fix next week (1709 release date is 10/17)...but will be holding back on rolling out the new Win10 version to our entire environment.
