Windows Hello and T series

2021-07-18, 19:42 PM

Which models, if any, of the T series support Windows Hello with facial recognition?

I own: T400 T500 X220 running Windows 10 x64 & My X230 runs Linux for my webserver. I also own an Apple MacBook along with an iPad Pro 12.9", both with 256GB SSD

Facial recognition via Windows Hello requires that the laptop be equipped with the IR camera option.

Considering many T-series machines can be Configured-to-Order (CTO), it would be difficult to say all of any given generation will all have the IR camera, and as a result, support Window Hello Facial Recognition.

Regards.

It seems from what I could tell is that T570 and above are available with suitable IR support but most models I see are not so equipped

guess it was an expensive option

Typically $30-40 US, so not really expensive, compared with some of the other configurable options.

Example: The T14 gen2 can get the IR camera upgrade for $30 US right now, as shown on the sales page.

The T15 is slightly larger but most models are unavailable
