Hello,

you should have a recovery partition on your Thinkpad ... Do you have it, could you use it for reinstall your system ?

Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft and insecure, so why are you not just upgrading to Windows 10 (its free), and getting up to date?

Are you still using Windows 7 on the laptop?

  1. You can get your key on the current system using this tool https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html . It should be noted that Windows Defender thinks it's a virus because it retrieves product keys but Nirsoft is legitimate (He has other amazing tools)

2. If you still have Windows 7 on the system but can't boot into it you can use https://www.hirensbootcd.org/ to get the key, it boots into a Windows 10 PE environment and has an application that looks for product keys (never tried this for Windows 7 though)

You can get Windows 7 here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7 and activate later. If I remember correctly you'll need to select the edition when you install.
