"This operating system is not configured to run this application" message keeps popping up

The message "This operating system is not configured to run this application" keeps on popping up from time to time, tried to check and update programs but couldn't seem to fix the issue.

Look in the event log.  There may be more information.

 

MS offics applications can trigger that message.  Read this:
