t400s: decreasing backlight brightness even more, windows 7 x64

2014-02-11, 4:17 AM

I was wodering if there is a way to decrease the t400s backlight even more than its minimal setting in windows 7. I know its physically possible, since when windows 7 is booting, I can decrease the brightness using the fn+end key to almost pitch black. however, when windows 7 finally loads, the minimum backlight become too bright again. I know there are workarounds (various screen dimming programs, Intels "brightness" controls etc), but I want to save battery not just make the screen seem like its darker. I haven't updated my bios/driver in a while btw since every seems to be working perfecetly except this. It didn't bother me much before, but now that both my main and ultrabay batteries have aged, conserving power has become a priority. Does anyone else have this issue, or has this been addressed in any driver updates?
