windows 10 T430u Express Cache SSD -> unkown device

2016-01-03, 14:27 PM

Hi guys, I need some help here.

I upgraded my laptop from 8.1 to 10 a couple of days ago. It started with the BSOD (Power state failure) every single time after  a resume from sleep. I resolved that by changing some(If I still remember correctly) chipset controller drive to another driver (There was only 2 to choose from the menu it was either one or the other)

Problem is, I realized a removable unkown device in my toolbar. Went into device manager found out it was the sandisk U100 ssd (From the ID thing-o). It was labeled as an unkown device.

I cannot find precence of the driver from any diaganostic software. (I THINK I used to see it in the hard disk test in the lenovo quick test but now there is only the main hdd)

In the bios, the closet thing that I can find that resembles the SSD is something called HDD2 in the boot sequence.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get the cache drive back?

HI there,

unfortunatley I have done this as a part of my upgrade and it did not work. I ran the clean up tool, restarted and ran the express cache install.

Thank you

Question,

I was just flipping through the device manager. I realized that in order to prevent the BSOD after resuming from sleep, I changed the driver of IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers from Intel 7 sries chipset familty SATA AHCI controll er to the Standard SATA AHCI Contorller.

Would this be the cause?

EDIT: from the diskpart in CMD, list disk also only shows the main HDD only. I never tried this previously on this laptop so I don't know if this is normal

Update: for future reference, if anyone got a laptop with an ssd cache driver, power driver state failure after resuming from sleep may be caused by a faulty SSD.

After I removed the SSD and changed the drivers back to the intel drivers, the laptop can now sucessfully resume from sleep. Boot tim also was reduced by a bit.
