I have a T400 Lenovo (2008 model).
I would like to have a new HD for my laptop and I found this offer at Dell Canada:
750 GB 2.5 Inch 7200RPM Momentus XT SATA 6Gb/s 32 MB Cache Solid State Hybrid Drive Internal Hard Drive
I would like to know if I can use this internal drive (750 GB 2.5 Inch 7200RPM Momentus XT SATA 6Gb/s 32 MB Cache Solid State Hybrid Drive Internal Hard Drive) at my laptop.
Thank you very much for your time and understanding.
Have a nice Day!

Your T400 accepts 9.5mm thick 2.5" wide SATA drives. The Momentus hybrid drive will fit in place of the original HDD.
Win8 natively supports 4k sectors. See Microsoft support policy for 4K sector hard drives in Windows.
Note however that the disk controller in the T400 runs at SATA-I (1.5Gb/s) speeds while the Momentus hybrid drive can run at SATA-III (6Gb/s) speeds. The drive is compatible with the controller but will only be able to transfer data at SATA-I speeds. As a result you won't get the full performance improvement of a hybrid drive.

Here are the specs for the Hitachi drive: Travelstar™ 7K200.
You can transfer all of your data from the Hitachi to the new drive using software like Acronis True Image. Seagate offers a free version of this software as DiscWizard. You'll need to put the new drive in the T400 HDD bay and the old drive in an external USB enclosure. When you reboot the T400, interrupt it and specify the USB-attached drive as the boot drive, i.e. boot from the Hitachi. Then run DiscWizard to transfer your data to the Momentus. You can increase partition sizes to make use of the higher disk capacity. Then when you're done, reboot normally, i.e. using the Momentus.

From the begining I would like to thank you for your quickly replay.
What I have is a HITACHI HTS722020K9SA00 FDE.
(something like this...http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00062932.html )
What I would like to do:
-put out the old Hitachi (from Lenovo)
-take the new one...insert in the same connection (!)
-and so on....
No idea if ...interface Serial ATA-600 versus interface Serial ATA-150...the motherbord will accept him...
