Asset Tag into BIOS - T400

We have a client who used to be on Dell, and we'd program the Asset Tag into the BIOS for them. The sysprepped image reads the programmed tag and auto-generates name information ect, yada yada.

I've been unable to find (searching these forums, google, ect) any utility that would allow me to program the asset tag. The SRCMOS utility which should work great to save our 'several' settings, but doesn't seem to have a method to add/edit the Asset tag.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Bill

We are in the same sitaution.  Dell had a utility and HP allowed us to do it right in the BIOS but I can't find anything for Lenovo laptops.

Re: Asset Tag into BIOS - T400

No responses so far...a bad sign. My whole reimage and deploy process is built around storing the machine name in the asset tag. I hope Lenovo has the capability, or I'm going to push to go back to HP or Dell.

Hi,

I am in need of this utility and it appears that the link is no longer valid. Anybody got any search tips or another link?

Thanks.

Will this work for a T420 as well?
