I received my new T460p today to replace my T440p.
It as the large battery in the back. The T 44 has two batteries, so I could hotswap. Does the T460p only have the external battery? All programs only show me one 76 Wh battery in the system. Battery life is a bout 2.5 hours with nothing installed. I tried the hotswap and the laptop went dead immediately after i removed the rear battery. Does it not have an internal battery like the 440p? The tech specs are unclear.

The T460 does not have an internal battery, so you will have to hibernate Windows before swapping, but with an SSD drive that happens pretty quick.
You can also get a extended life 6 cell battery to replace the base 3 cell.

I see. I should have done my research better. I already bought the highest capacity battery and got 2 hours and 10 min on the first charge. Doing a battery gauge reset now. I hope I will be reaching more than 4 hours. I am already having issues with battery life on the 460 s.

What the heck are you doing with your PC to get that low of battery life on the 72w battery?! Are you playing a high intensive game or something? I haven't tested the battery, but it seems to run for quite a long time when I decide to use just the battery on the weekend.

I have no games installed. All i have is Office and web browsing. My main battery usage is Dropbox and edge according to Windows 10. Right now I have 3 hours and 20 min remaining with 98% battery left.

That doesn't sound right for time, I am thinking you have a smaller battery than the 72w one, or there is something wrong with it (or you are running a custom battery scheme that makes it run like its in desktop mode). I just unplugged mine and let it run for a little bit to reach 98%, and it is showing almost 10hrs, and I am running a fully loaded/every hardware option T460p.

The new battery says 6040 mAh on it. With 97% I got a reading of 5 h 01 min.
I got another battery from my 440p which says 6080 mAh and now it shows 6 h 49 min with 89%.
I guess the brand new battery is just a "looser".....

There is no solution. The "all day" battery life is simply false advertising. 4 hours are perfectly normal unless you will not use the laptop for anything and have the screen brightness turned down all the way so you can't read anything.
