Battery doesn't charge more then 98%

Hi,

I have purchased a new Lenovo ThinkPad T440P,

I installed the ThinkVantageTechnologies Power Manager, and now I see that the battery is always on 98%, even if it is connected to electricity for a week time it is still on 98%, while it should have been on 100%,

Can anyone please advise what is wrong?

Re: Battery doesn't charge more then 98%

This is expected behavior. There's a hysteresis range of 96% to 100%, which prevents repeated charge/discharge when the battery is near full.

i.e.) If you plug the AC in while the battery is between 96 and 100%, it will not charge the remainder. It will charge up to 100% if you plug in the AC when the battery is below 96%.

Which OS are you running? Win 7 comes with different power management software than win 8.x.
