I recently performed a clean full system upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my T530.
Everything is working well and I must admit I am very pleased with the features and performance of Windows 10. When I turn on Bluetooth it works and I can connect my pc to my remote HP printer and send jobs for printing.
The only issue I am having is that when I turn on Bluetooth no Bluetooth icon appears in the toolbar like it did with Windows 7. I have downloaded (g4wh01ww.exe Bluetooth 4) from Lenovo Support. When I go to install it I receive a notification that it is already installed. When I go to Windows Settings and click on devices no bluetooth shows. I have a small airplane in the toolbar which shows that I am connected wirelessly. The no show if the Bluetooth icon might be characteristic of Windows 10, if so I can live with it. Am I missing something?

As an addon, when I go to device manager and rt. click and select show hidden devices and expand Bluetooth It shows ThinkPad Bluetooth 4.0 and when I rt. click it shows ...
"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."
More confusion for me as I can connect my pc wirelessly to my printer.
So the main question remains...can I get the bluetooth icon to show in my toolbar?

Could you better state Upgrade to win 10, vs clean install?
If upgrade, inplace, from win 7, you probably have DUAL VPN items in device manager.
Delete all VPN items, reboot.
Your wisdom of hidden devices is noted. Great knowledge.

Open the control panel. In the search box, type bluetooth. Select bluetooth settings. Check the box to show the icon

Thanks for your reply.
I did an inplace upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10. When searching in control panel for Bluetooth devices none show up. As noted in my earlier post when in device mgr. and expanding Bluetooth 4.0 "This hardware device is not connected (Code 45).
When in Device Mgr., I am unclear how to recognize VPN items. Please provide details to display any VPN items I might have installed. Also are VPN items necessary in my Win 10 install, what will I lose if I uninstall them.

Did you try Richk's suggestion? The Vpn items were from myself doing Google searchs, ie when upgrading in place, multiple VPN's created and some devices hidden?
Hopefully someone on the forum can give your better suggestions.

When I open control panel and search for Bluetooth two results occur.
1. View Devices and Printers. When I open up it shows my printers, pc, and chromcast. No Bluetooth.
2. the second result is "Setup a connection or network". When I open up I then have choices to cennect to the internet or set up a new network connection etc. No mention of any Bluetooth. Bluetooth is missing.
Also when I click on Windows Settings and select devices and printers there is no Bluetooth anywhere.

Yes I did try richk's suggestion...no Bluetooth anywhere.
As far as VPNs I haven't set up any VPNs that I am aware of.
When I was running Win 7 the Bluetooth icon always showed up in the
Toolbar when I turned Bluetooth on.
It's a mystery.
