Brand new T480 problems after Windows 10 1809 22 January 2019 update OS Build 17763.292

2019-02-12, 14:56 PM

I had clean install on 02 January on brand new T480, and after 22 January 1809 update I have events in event log with error messages that some hardware components could not be reached, dns problems etc. Also some DCOM error messages are present.

Computer is very slow sometimes, web browsing, Outlook etc.

Networking is slower durign that period, I measure around 70% less bandwidth, compared with W530 on the same switch, measured one after another, while Outlook is freezing and pictures in MS Word are half white.

I spent all day tring to resolve, unistalled and reinstalled audio and ethernet driver, antivirus software (Trend Micro), OneDrive etc.

Lenovo Vantage gives good results in Health tests and all drivers are up to date according to it.

Does anbody else has the same experience and what to do?

PS I did full malwarebytes and av scan, monitored open ports, network connections, processes etc and I bealive it is clean from malware, it is almost unsed too.

I've noticed all of our new T480 machines with 1809 pre-installed have had odd issues from the start.  I re-imaged one with a clean install of 1809 and it worked fine, however, I have a brand new one out of the box that is having the same oddities the others have had.  Some issues worked themselves out after running updates.  The latest issue is that the machine never shuts down and must be forced off every single time.  Also, when they were booted up for the first time they took forever to boot up.  I will probably do a clean install on this one but there seems to be something wrong with the Lenovo 1809 pre-installed image...
