C/D Drive Thinkpad T510

Running Windows 10.  C/D drive no longer works.  No problem, (I never use it) however I cannot keep the drive closed for any length of time.  It will automatically open (eject) whenever it feels like it.  I'd like to close it and have it remain closed.  Is there a way I can disable it so that it will no longer receive the eject command?  Duct tape is not doing the job.  Thanks.

Re: C/D Drive Thinkpad T510

Hi StatBoy,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

There is a discussion here with fellow members using different methods of keeping the optical drive closed.

Personally, I would rather remove the drive as shown here in the hardware manual (page 71) giving more ventilation to the laptop or you may also want to consider replacing it with a caddy for additional storage.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Update us how it goes best for you.

Regards
