CD eject way too easy.

I have noticed, my cd drive on my t500 ejects if my hand holds the computer on that side.  Upon further inspection, it is not the button I am pressing, any pressure at all on the drive door ejects it.  The whole drive face acts as a big eject button.

Is this normal behavor?

Is there a way to lock the drive shut, so I am not constantly pushing it back in when I carry my t500?

I would love a way to lock the drive shut with a software unlock button or menu.

Thanks!

Re: CD eject way too easy.

Hi,

On my T400s I have to apply substantial pressure to the button to open CD.

Re: CD eject way too easy.

Do you have the cd burner, or the dvd burner?

this is not the normal behaviour, you should get it checked.

Re: CD eject way too easy.

Its stopped doing it for now.  If it starts doing it again, I will let you know!  I haven't done anything to fix it.

Re: CD eject way too easy.

i think you should get it replaced ASAP, the later you leave it, the worse you will be. Also once Lenovo runs out new parts for the drive, they will ship out refurbished parts, which isn't quite as good as the new drive.

Re: CD eject way too easy.

I'd say that behavior is reasonably typical. It certainly happens on my T61p, I can press the button, or the front 1/2 of the drawer.  I think the 400s has an entirely different drive.
