Damaged T400 screen - Help

I cleaned my 14.1 inch WXGA+ (1440x900) LCD screen - with spray on foam cleaner, wiped off with microfibre cloth looked great. I went out for the day and returned to find to my horror on start up that screen looks like its been something akin to "water damaged" with "water marks" on the screen and one particular small spot extremely bright. Has the cleaner somehow got behind the screen and removed a coating? The display works fine but is the brilliantly sharp screen now permanently damaged? Is a solution or do I have to replace the screen? (or put up with a water marked display) How much is a replacement? I have an extended warranty but I guess it won't help for any aspect of this damage?

Any help to distraught T400 user would be much appreciated

Thanks

Re: Damaged T400 screen - Help

try cleaning the spots with ~70% alcohol. it might get rid of the water marks.

that said, i'm not responsible if it worsens the situation.

but, that said, i never had a problem with cleaning the screens with alcohol....

Re: Damaged T400 screen - Help

Thanks for your suggestion but I think the damage (water type marks) are under the surface - showing in the worst spot as a very bright splodge!

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
