I'm on a T500 with Vista, and recently the ThinkVantage Toolbox has advised me that the ThinkPad PM Device needs to be reinstalled. This, I think I have done, but the error message persists:
Can anyone tell me how I can rectify this?

can you check, what is the verison of this file?
This will help you out to check, if the update went well.
Just that you understand what I mean. This fisle should be on the same version as the Power Manager that you have installed.
Of course, please also make sure, that you have the latest version of Poewr Manager installed + power management driver, system interface driver and hotkey.

Thanks for the response.
Can you tell me where I find the version of that file? Is it through the DM?
As far as I'm aware, all the versions of the files you mentioned are up-to-date, as I regularly use the update manager.

you can check the version of the file in the location of the file, in the properties.
Just go to C:\Windows\system32\drivers\, right-click the "ibmpmdrv.sys" file -> Properties->Version tab.
And for the rest of the applications, please go to Add/Remove programs and there you should see all the versions.
Let me know, any update.
