Re: [Display not HDCP-compliant?] T540p - 3K WQHD+ display

I just bought an external USB Blu-ray drive and a copy of PowerDVD 13.

When I try to play a Blu-ray disc (no external displays attached) on the internal 3K display,

the attempt fails with the following message:

"CyberLink PowerDVD is unable to play this media because the required HDCP could not be initiated. [...]"

So I downloaded the "CyberLink Blu-ray Disc & 3D Advisor" which checks the system for Blu-ray compatibility.

According to this tool, the internal display is not HDCP compliant:

"HDCP-compliant Display: No"

All other test passed.

So, is it really true that this display is not HDCP compliant and, thus, not capable of playing Blu-ray movies?

Re: [Display not HDCP-compliant?] T540p - 3K WQHD+ display

Das Problem ist nicht mehr vorhanden.

Offenbar hat die Installation des Display-"Treibers" (eigentlich nur eine *.inf) geholfen.

Ein kleiner Tipp vom Support waere toll gewesen...

edit: Ewww sorry, this is the English board.  :smileyembarrassed:

Problem solved by manually installing the display-"driver" (actually just an *.inf).

I wished support gave me a hint...

See if this will work: http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvdhd.html

It is for use with non HDCP compliant graphics cards and displays.

Re: [Display not HDCP-compliant?] T540p - 3K WQHD+ display

Thank you, Wendel!

However, besides being rather expensive, I'm n
ot sure AnyDVD is legal in Germany.

I'd really like to get a reply by Lenovo support on that matter:

Is it really impossible to watch Blu-ray movies on the internal display,

without circumventing the DRM chain (which is illegal in many countries)?

Re:[Display not HDCP-compliant?] T540p - 3K WQHD+ display

Hello,

I have a similar Issue on ThinkPad Yoga 20CD. @ __entropy Can you give me a link to the display driver you used? I don*t know, if my model supports HDCP at all, but I would like to try this driver. I need it for Android Mirroring...

Kind regards, yowapad.
