Distorted Sound (thinkpad t510)

2011-08-16, 1:56 AM

Hi,

For some reason, the thinkpad t510 all of a sudden has fits of sound distortion like buzzing when it is playing a music. For example I am listening to something on itunes while browsing firefox, and occasionally the sound will buzz. I have not encountered this problem before. Could it be nvidia driver related with its HD audio or what ever? My HD Conexnant drivers are update. Nothing really has changed. This problem is new. A bit of googling states that it might be a virus related issue...but I got norton and full system scan has revealed nothing. Any pointers/hints/tips?

Thanks

Try running DPC latency checker from here:

Also try a different media player like foobar2k or Winamp.
