I am using a Lenovo Ultra Dock (40A20090EU) and I am experiencing frequent audio dropouts when using the HDMI (or DisplayPort) output of it to play sound directly on a TV (Philips 42PFL3207J/12) or on an AVR/amplifier (Onkyo TX-NR626). After maximum 3 minutes there is at least one short dropout (about a second). If I am using the HDMI output directly from my Lenovo T460p (even while docked) there are no dropouts.
Since other people with different laptops have the same issue I am pretty sure the issue lies in the dock:
From the dates of these posts the issue seems to be there already since more than two years and seems to be pretty independent of the laptop.
It would be great if a Lenovo staff member could grab one of the docks and reproduce the issue to further escalate the issue. Best would be to use a TV or AVR/amplifier since it appears to happen mainly with those audio sinks.
If other people also experience this issue please quickly state it here too in order to push this issue forward. It would be good if you could also state your equipment.
Looking forward a lot to a solution.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Problem occurs via HDMI and DisplayPort. Using MiniDP directly from my T440s works fine. New UltraDock from Lenovo had the same problem. Firmware-Updates also doesn't solve the problem.
It's definitly the dock - not the T440s oder its config. I'm using an Onkyo TX-NR616, so maybe it occurs only when UltraDock meets Onkyo.

Concerning the idea that it might be the Onkyo amplifier: I also first suspected that it could be the amplifier, but if I leave out the amplifier completly and connect the dock directly to the TV and listen through the TV speakers to music the problem also occurs with the TV.

Have you tried updating the firmware on your dock? The firmware and more information about the dock can be found here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/pd028010

thanks for your post. Yes, I updated it and I am pretty sure that was sometimes after July that I updated the dock so I think it is up-to-date. System Update does not show any updates either at the moment (also when docked), so I am pretty sure I am having the most recent firmware.
