I've replaced a ThinkPad T560 with T580. That necessitated replacing my docking stations (I use it at two locations). In my 2nd location, the monitor connected to the T560 via DVI cable. The new docking station has no DVI port. (Why would that be?)
I have an adapter for the DVI cable that allows it to plug into the docking station's HDMI port, but the T50 doesn't seem to recognize the monitor. Since the monitor only has DVI and SVGA ports, is my only option to use an SVGA cable? Or is there a setting that will alow the laptop to recognize the monitor through an HDMI >DVI connector?
Should I get just as good results with an SVGA cable as I got on the T560 with the DVI cable?
