System is a T400s with Windows XP, SP3, all updates.
After logging on, each time there is an error message that there was an exception in pwrmgrtr.dll.
Also, when trying to Perform Reset on the battery [through the Power Manager], the Power Manager interface hangs.
Are these two problems related?
On the second problem, any chance it's a bad battery?

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that you are getting pwrmgrtr.dll exception error while starting your Lenovo ThinkPad T400s.
Pwrmgrtr.dll is a dll file used by ThinkPad Power Manager. You are getting this error because it would have got corrupted. I would suggest you to uninstall the power manager software and install the latest version of power manager and power management driver.
Nothing to panic! It is not indicating any battery failure.
Hope this helps!

Hi Mithun, I tried that.
Uninstalled Power Manager, rebooted. Installed latest version from Lenovo site.
At first, the power manager worked. After rebooting, got the same error message.
Power Manager is back to hanging after pressing the Battery Reset button.
I've also reinstalled the Power Manager driver, but haven't uninstalled it. Is there a way to uninstall the Power manager driver?

Update hotkey features and .net framework to the latest version, restart the system and check if it helps.
If the Power Management Driver program is already installed, overwrite-installing the new package will add new functions, or expand functions. You don’t have to uninstall the driver manually.
If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to perform a backup of all your data and reinstall the operating system.
