Fingerprint sensor does not work any longer after update to Win10 1607 (Thinkpad T460S)

My fingerprint sensor does not work any longer after update to Win10-64 Version 1607. I am using the latest Win10 build, the latest BIOS Version 1.15 and the latest version of the fingerprint sensor driver (Synaptics Metallica Touch Fingerprint Driver) Version 5.1.311.26 from 14.7.2016. Uninstalling the driver completely and re-installing it helped for one reboot to re-activate it, but this is no stable state, the fingerprint sensor is unavailable after the next reboot. Surprisingly the fingerprint sensor is still offered as a logon option, although iinactive. Soon thereafter there is a message during the final stage of the reboot ('there has been a problem...') and it's completely gone and completely gone. Obviously Win10-64 Version 1607 and the fingerprint driver does not like each other. Any solutions available?

I have a similar issue on a T530 - when it wakes from sleep, fingerprint reader takes several minutes before it reactivates.

This is on an updates 1607 windows 10 pro 64 bit.

Try clearing the fingerprint sensor in BIOS Setup:

1.  reboot and press F1 to enter BIOS Setup

2.  change to the Security -> Fingerprint menu

3.  Select the option about "Reset Fingerprint Data"

4.  reboot to Windows, then re-enroll your fingerprints
