Full RAM not showing?!

2017-12-20, 3:34 AM

Hello. I own a T440s and just had my MB changed by the Lenovo Technician...He told me the new MB is exactly like the old one. So, ok. I have a 4gb RAM slotted off board. Plus the 4gb RAM onboard = 8 GB RAM.

Bios only shows 4gb RAM, Windows dont show anything and when i try to remove the extra offboard 4gb RAM, the MB screams 7 times after i turn the laptop on, and nothing happens, screen black and nothing. The MB should work on its own, but its not, and im getting only 4gb...

Please help

Thanks

Hi

Could you disassemble the laptop and take a look at the systemboard labels? There is the one with the systemboard FRU p/n. It's placed at the lower left corner at the 1st photo below and looks like the one at the 2nd photo

Could you provide this FRU?
