How to Factory Reset OPAL 2 SSD Which Has ATA Hard Disk Password Set?

2018-09-22, 18:00 PM

I have Lenovo T530 with Samsung OPAL 2 SSD drive. A hard disk password is set on the BIOS. Is it possible to do factory reset to the drive without knowing the password? Also, the BIOS keeps asking for the password not allowing me to enter the BIOS Setup or boot from USB

Thanks,

If you don't know the password, the drive is trash.  It can't be reset.  If you want to enter BIOS setup or boot to USB, you either have to remember the HDD password or else remove the HDD.
