Have you checked the power settings for that device? Maybe it turns off after certain period of time to save energy...

Power setting for the SSD? When could I find that?

Every time, I close the lid, the second SSD at optical bay disappear. Your suggestion is quite reasonable for this. Thanks very much! If possible, could you tell me how to set that?

Re: How to remove the option to eject sata drives?

Assuming you're using a Windows operating system, you should go first to the control panel, then choose "Power Options" -> "Change plan settings" -> "Change advanced power settings", look then for the SSD and check the settings.

Below is a printscreen from Windows 7, the options above may slightly vary if you use another Windows version:

Hope this helps!  :-)

Re: How to remove the option to eject sata drives?

I must be missing the solution.  In checking the Power settings for the hard drives it is at 20 minutes at defult.  Even if I increase the minutes to a high number such as 2000 minutes the second hard drive in the media bay disappears after closing the laptop.  Obviously, the default action in closing the lid is for the sysem to go into Sleep mode.  Sleep mode appears to be the reason for the missing secondary drive.

I followed another thread from another site saying to add a Registry entry for the device in question with no success.

Any other ideas?
