I'm having some Problems with my T400s

2012-06-25, 19:10 PM

So my problems are:

1) The integrated video camera (i noticed this when I was trying to record a Youtube video) fails me alot. It will cut in and out of service (the green light stating that the camera is on will turn on and off, then finally off).

2) My mouseclicks on my palmrest aren't functional.. I can move the cursor, and can right click using the top clicker, but the bottem clickers and the top left do not respond.

Please let me know what I can do to fix these, as well as any alternates to purchasing a new $100 palm rest on eBay.

Not much to go on. Ok its a 400 but that doesn't tell me anything about the hardware. I know the other guys have ESP however I am deprived.

Are you drivers and bios up to date form Lenovos downloads. Start by doing that.

@Tripplec, it is a T400s. Also, i am not sure why you need more information about the system, when it is to do with an integrated camera and the touchpad left click button.

1) Sound like you could be having a cabling issues with your camera, which may cause your camera to cut in and out like this.

The best way to diagnose this problem, is to reinstall the OS from scratch.

2) It sounds like your left click button is broken, could be an issue with the plastic dome switch. This is a common issue. Unfortunately you would need a new palmrest.
