Internet Lags in T570

Just recently (<30 Days ago) purchased a t570 notebook. I am experiencing these odd lags and hangs while on the Internet. I suspect that it may be a compatibility issue between the AC 8260 WIFI adapter and my Netgear B/G/N router. Support refuses to take a look at the event log which has produced a number of errors. I wonder if anyone here can help with this, because I think the answer may lie here.

Thoughts? Could this be errors between the T570 and my router? This was not an issue with my old computer which was a Wireless N adapter, and my wife's tower does not exhibit these issues, either.

Everything should be up-to-date, but regardless, I don't think it's a driver issue.  (Note: This is not the entire log file, only a sampling of errors and events prior to and following the errors.)

This is a Win7 Pro, 8g RAM, I can't think of anything else that would be pertinent here.

I opened a ticket with Lenovo only to be told to ship the laptop to them, which is not possible.  If necessary, I can attache the entire log file, which is extensive.

Thanks in advance

Re: Internet Lags in T570

I'm not sure what's going on with those logs (or even where they're coming from), but I've resolved numerous wifi quality issues by disabling power manangement for the wireless nic.

You can do this by going into Device Manager (devmgmt.msc from the search window), running it as an Administrator.

Find the wireless NIC (under Network adapters), go to properties and untick this box:

RXOXD9

See if that helps.

Re: Internet Lags in T570

Oddly enough, checking that box caused my system to hang when logging onto Windows. I went into the System Repair utility and it reported that a "configuration change caused issues." I would have taken a screen shot if it was able. I was forced to do a System Restore in order to log onto my system again. That was the only change I made. So... I'm at square one.

Thanks for the suggetion, however.

Re: Internet Lags in T570

That shouldn't have caused your computer to hang. I've never had that happen before to me, and I almost always disable it because of weird wifi behaviors related to not using the network, Windows puts it to sleep and then you need it and it takes a few seconds for the wifi four-way handshake to complete, presenting you with a delay.

I did some more looking into "AC" and realized that might be Lenovo's Access Connections. I didn't think that abomination was still around, especially given that since Vista, Window’s wireless GUI has been top notch.

If you have that program installed on your computer, maybe try uninstalling it and use Window’s builtin Wifi connection software instead and see if that helps.

Re: Internet Lags in T570

Actually, the AC refers to the wireless technology, as in B/G/N.

However, I will give removing the Access Connections (or at least disabling it) and let you know what the results are.

Sorry, meant to type AcSvc, which is the Access Connections program.
