Issues with Thunderbolt and external displays on T480s

Hi everyone!

I recently purchased a T480s with the following specs:
- i7 8550u

- MX150 Graphics
- 16GB of RAM
- WQHD Display


I am running a Setup with the following Displays: internal Display @ WQHD, external Display 1 @ WQHD, external Display 2 @ FHD.

Everything works perfectly fine, if I connect External Display 1 via a Thunderbolt Dock and DisplayPort and External Display 2 via HDMI directly.


The problem I encounter is the following:
I have some "small Adapters" for Thunderbolt -> HDMI or Display Port. They used to work fine until yesterday, now all adapters, except for one (USB C -> HDMI, USB and USB-C) have stopped working. All I get is a message stating that there is a malfunctioning USB device.

Funny part: All adapters work fine on a Dell XPS15, Lenovo MIIX 510 Tab, and so on.


Whats the problem? I already tried System Restore to a few days ago, did not help...

Hi Jackl2! Welcome to our community forums. Try running the update through the Lenovo Vantage app. Install all available updates then restart the computer. If the issue persist, run the hardware test from the same app to check if there is a hardware failure. If the app is missing, you can get it here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/lenovo-vantage/9wzdncrfj4mv.
