Latest Power Management Driver Conflicts with Lenovo OSD

Hi,

Seems like the latest Power Management Driver which was release on the 21st of August caused the Lenovo OSD to stop working.

I tried to re-install the OSD and only part of the Fn+FX were working again, also the volume display did for a while and then everything stopped working again after a reboot.

Anyone else facing the same?

I'm on a Lenovo T430 and Windows 7 x64 Professional.

Thanks.

Re: Latest Power Management Driver Conflicts with Lenovo OSD

Exactly the same here on T470s Win7, pro, 64

Only volume and brightness working but no OSD

Another update screwing up our systems...

Re: Latest Power Management Driver Conflicts with Lenovo OSD

Yes me too. Also on a T430 running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

With n20ku12w (Power Management Driver 1.67.14.05) (After a reboot):

Fn+F3 no longer locks the PC (no great loss I guess)

Fn+F5 no longer allows you to switch Wi-FI and Bluetooth on and off.

Fn+F6 no longer works (in my case no longer pops up 'Communications Settings')

Fn+F8 still dims display but no graphic is shown

Fn+F9 still brightens display but no graphic is shown

Volume up and Volume down still work but no graphic is shown.

Caps lock works but graphic shown is smaller than normal and text only.

With n20ku10w (Power Management Driver 1.67.14.04) reinstalled (if you kept file) or 'rolled back' to in device manager (if you didn't) everything is back to normal.

Whose idea was it to make 'Lenovo Service Bridge' (that seems to be required to download these updates) delete the pervious version of the download??

Somebody please point out to that person that Lenovo seems to do only a bear minimum of testing before releasing updates and it is often ESSENTIAL that there be a way go go back to the previous version.

Maybe the problem is limited to Windows 7.

Re: Latest Power Management Driver Conflicts with Lenovo OSD

Hi,

how can I "roll back" to the older Power Management Driver with device manager? I can't find the Driver to choose the older version.

Thanks for your help and have a nice day.

Re: Latest Power Management Driver Conflicts with Lenovo OSD

Hi,

Perhaps the n20ku10w file can be shared with us?
Alternatively, the steps to roll back for now.

It is probably through here:

Thanks.

Re: Latest Power Management Driver Conflicts with Lenovo OSD

Correct (For Windows 7).

And "Lenovo PM Device" is in the "System Devices" section.

Just press the Roll Back Driver button. You'll have to re-boot before it takes effect.

Re: Latest Power Management Driver Conflicts with Lenovo OSD

The "roll back" solution to version 1.67.14.4 worked on my T470s.

Thanks for the help!

And Lenovo: please work on a better update roll out!
