Lenovo T410 backlight not functioning

I have  Lenovo T410, and I've been using it regularly. I usually keep it hibernating when I'm not using it, and I just tried to power it on today and the backlight doesn't work. When I hold the screen up to the light, I can still my desktop.

It looks like a hardware issue, is there anything I can try to do to fix this?

Re: Lenovo T410 backlight not functioning

if you have a warranty I would go with that, but if not you can check the inverter power out put with a multimeter or (if its not LED) a known good backlight if it lights the inverter is good if not then its bad .it sounds like the inverter to me

Re: Lenovo T410 backlight not functioning

there is no inverter. T410 machines are all LED backlight. If no warranty, I would reset everything. unplug, remove the main battery and the cmos battery. Press the power button a few times, holding it the last time for 5 seconds. Put it back together and try again.

Re: Lenovo T410 backlight not functioning

Agree about LED.  My T510 is LED.  The problem could be in the hibernation  routine.  It may not be fully awakening from that torpid state. (That's why I never use it.)

Re: Lenovo T410 backlight not functioning

Highly doubt that hibernation caused it. It's possible the backlight went or the cable went or something on the motherboard went.

yeah I know its called led sub card its just easier to call it an inverter some folks don't know about the sub card but know about the inverter & it does about the samething it changes the current to what the backlight/ led needs
