Lenovo Thinkpad T500

I was looking at a thinkpad t500 and this is the specs

  •   Intel Centrino vPro 2 (Core 2 Duo T9400) 2x2.53GHz Processor with 6MB L2 Cache
  •   15.4" SXGA+ screen 1680x1050 LCD
  •   Switchable graphics: Dedicated 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650 and Intel GMA 4500MHD
  •   2 GB DDR3 memory (PC3-8500 at 1066MHz)
  •   160GB 7200rpm hard drive
  •   DVD-RW multirecorder drive
  •   Intel 82567LM 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN
  •   Intel WiFi Link 5100AGN
  •   Built-in bluetooth connection
  •   Built-in fingerprint reader
  •   Thinkpad modem
  •   Conexant HD stereo sound system
  •   UltraNav Trackpoint and Touchpad with 2 mouse buttons each
  •   Standard ThinkPad 101/102-key keyboard US
  •   Express card slot and PCMCIA slot
  •   Audio in/Audio out jacks
  •   IEEE 1394 firewire port, 3 x USB Port, VGA port, RJ-11 modem port, RJ-45 LAN port, Docking port

This thinkpad also still has manufacture warranty till 2013. Do you think this is still a good laptop for today's standards? Mean I'm not going to be doing any major graphical stuff or cpu killer software. I just want something that can play movies in hd on youtube/netflix/and other video sites without lagging and run other things at the same tiime in windows 7, i right now have a t41 with 2gb of ddr ram, 250gb pata hdd, pentium M 1.7ghz and 32mb video card.

think that its still a good buy

Re: Lenovo Thinkpad T500

It looks like a nice machine. It will certainly do the kinds of things you mention and more. Whether it is a good buy depends on how much you are paying and things like battery condition, installed OS, etc

Re: Lenovo Thinkpad T500

well theres some of the similar spec's from different people around 300-400, the one im looking at is 419.00 but has a best offer selection so i figured i would go mid range at 350, but i think the reason why its buy it now price is higher is cause of the 1 year warranty still on the laptop
