Major sound gap with Windows XP and Quicktime -- could it be hardware or setup?

2009-12-24, 0:45 AM

I have a Lenovo T500 with 2MB Ram, Connexant 20651 SmartAudio HD sound and Radeon HD 3650 graphics.

I have a big sound gap in Windows XP whenever I try to view a quicktime video online. I have followed the Apple sound problem fix recommendations, and none seem to work (sound settings, new drivers, unistall/reinstall quicktime, etc.). Sound is fine when watching a DVD or a viewing a youtube video. Other computers on the same network seem to be fine. I have also tried Quicktime alternative and that also did not seem to solve the problem. I also tried turning off virus protection and firewall, but that also did not seem to help. Does anyone have any suggestion? I have spent almost a day trying to fix this and I am getting nowhere.
