I would like to make use of the "Lenovo Recovery" partition on my hard disk for storage; it is about 10gb and now not needed. However the Win7 OS does not seem to want to allow me to delete the contents or reformat it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can do this?
I have two drives, one for boot and apps (solid state) and the second regular HDD just for data. I took a hard disk from my old Thinkpad T520 (which died) and put it into a drive bay adaptor in a new T520 system. All works fine.
As the second hard disk is now just there for data and the main (solid state drive) has a new Lenovo recover partition, I do not need to keep the old Lenovo recovery partition on the second drive and would like to make use of the storage capacity.

Double-click on the partition in My Computer, and you should get the option to Recover Drive Space... but before you zap the recovery partition, make sure you have a backup image of the disk, or have made or obtained a recovery disk set.
Hope this helps!

Hi bananaman, thanks for your suggestion. While it was exactly what I tried to do before, just getting a message that I could not access that drive, this time it worked though.
So it anyone else gets this promlem the answer is.... before trying to format the drive, click your heels three times, wait one week and reboot several times and it will probably work : )

Could you give us a case number? I have posted your comments in the Lenovo thread but a case number will help me track down faster your call. I agree that what you experienced is not what we are striving for and that you the customer deserve better support.
I can not guarantee any resolution but I'll keep you updated if there is any change.
