OEM ram or third party ram for T410

hi,

i'm new here, just ordered my T410 yesterday Smiley Happy

these is my T410 specification ordered from lenovo

General Model name 25379FA

Description   ThinkPad T410

   Main Features Processor Intel® Core™ i5-540M Processor ( 2.53GHz 1066MHz 3MB )

Operating system Genuine Windows 7 Professional 32

System graphics NVIDIA Quadro NVS 3100m 256MB

Total memory 2 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz

Display type 14.1 " WXGA+ LED 1440x900

Hard drive device 500GB 7200

Network card Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200

Optical device DVD Recordable (Dual Layer)

Bluetooth Bluetooth Version 2.1 + EDR

Finger print reader Fingerprint Reader

Pointing device UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)

Battery 6 Cell Lithium-Ion

i want to upgrade my T410 to 4GB ram, but lenovo malaysia doesn't offer customization, so, my T410 comes with 2GB ram only. i have my 2 years old ideapad Y430 comes with 4GB (2x2 GB ddr3 1066MHz) kingston sdram.
here, i have 3 options to upgrade my ram to 4GB
1. take 2GB from Y430 and place it on my new T410 free slot
2. swap OEM 2GB under T410 keyboard and put both 2x2GB kingston ram taken from Y430
3. order OEM 2GB from lenovo and place it on the free slot (need to wait 1-2 weeks)
can someone suggest me the best option since i dont want to sacrifice any performace
thanks Smiley Happy

Re: OEM ram or third party ram for T410

Lenovo use third party ram too, but they are more stringently tested for error.

there is no problem with mix and match ram modules... Samsung, G.Skill, Muskin, Kingston are all fine.

Lenovo use several ram suppliers.

Re: OEM ram or third party ram for T410

OP: ...Lenovo desnt produce or make any of these memory modules to my knowlege....All of these memory chips are produced by third party manufacturers., right?

How much is your system in USD?

If you don't mind telling me the price because I have just ordered the same exact system here in the US.

Also, I am thinking about upgrading the memory as well, mind came with 2GB of memory....dont know the brand of the current T410 is using in this notebook,  but I may putting in a different brand of memory into my system...
