Used the Lenovo Update and Drivers app to routinely update to current drivers.  It installed Hotkey Features Integration package 3.86.  The Fn+PgUp does turn the light on and off and the on-screen display is correct too.  The volume up and down buttons and the mute button also work with correct on-screen display.  However the Fn+Home and Fn+End do increase and decrease the screen brightness but there is no on-screen display showing the current brightness level as there was before 3.86.  How do I get those on-screen display back?

Solved this problem.   It was due to a mismatch between the Intel and Nvidia drivers.  They must be installed as  a matched pair from the Optimus set from the Lenovo site not individually from Windows Update or the Intel site.
