Power button does not shutdown/hibernate/sleep

2016-02-11, 16:58 PM

Hi,

subject already sais it. T440p, Windows 8.1 64 bit: when I go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\System Settings and choose Choose what the power buttons do, no matter what I chose, pressing the power button has no effect. I always have to grab the mouse or use the keyboard. What's the issue here?

Thanks

I too had the same issue with my Laptop L460

Set the power plan to balanced. (Mine was in Airplane mode which I never set manually)

Change the power button options to something other than hibernate and save

Change back the power buttopn option back to your choice.

This solved my problem.

Note: I tried reproducing the issue but was not successful.

Hello. I was having the same issue with my new ThinkPad P1\X1 Extreme. Now I see holding the power button down 1 full second triggers a sleep event. Cheers!
