Power-on Hard drive and windows-hello fingerprints not sync-ed up

I have a T480 running Windows 10  - 1803

I use the fingerprint reader as my default logon.

It has been working flawlessly for the power-on, and hard drive password, but to log back into windows from the screen saver it was not working well.  I went into Windows Hello deleted my fingerprint and re-enrolled it.

Unfortunately now when I do a cold boot my fingerprint unlocks the BIOS but will NOT work for unlocking the hard drive.

I have to manually type in my password to get past the hard drive "padlock".

Windows-Hello to reopen from screen-saver-lock works fine....

sigh....................... How do i get all three fingerprint unlocks sync'ed up?   (Power-on, Hard Drive, and Windows)

Re: Power-on Hard drive and windows-hello fingerprints not sync-ed up

I assume all 3 passwords are the same as each other.  Before you add your password back into windows hello, boot into the BIOS and delete your fingerprints. (security/fingerprint/erase fingerprint data).  Set up the fingerprints in windows hello.  The first time you power on, it will prompt for power-on and hard drive pw.

Re: Power-on Hard drive and windows-hello fingerprints not sync-ed up

Thanks Rich!

I'm not sure what happened but.....

this morning after another cold start-up this morning it all appears to be sync-ed ....

If I have any more trouble I'll do exactly as you suggest and delete from BIOS and enter new data only in Windows-Hello!

Thanks!
