Problem with Lenovo T510 Keyboard Removal

2011-02-08, 23:43 PM

I am having an issue removing the keyboard from a Lenovo T510.  I removed the bottom ram cover, and the two screws next to it (with the keyboard label next to them).

However, after doing this, the keyboard still does not slide forward.  It doesn't seem to shift around at all, actually.

Do you have any ideas on what could be keeping it in (and how to correct)?

jsight, welcome to the forum,

my guess would be that the keyboard has "popped up" a bit at the back and is sitting level with the bezel, rather than under it, which prevents you from sliding it.

Have a close look at the rear of the keyboard, especially the area behind the volume and power button, and if needs require "pop" it down again so that it sits under the bezel. It should then be easy to remove it.

Hope this helps

It really isn't going to slide forward to far.

When removing keyboards I often times have to poke my screwdriver (Flathead side) down in the bottom and pry it forward and up.
