I bought one T440p 2 month ago with first service attempt in beginning of Dezember. Without success. Now I requested to replace the fan again. Hope IBM does. The good point is I order just one T440p and not 5 as I though. But it is terrible enough because nobody like to work with that notebook as you can not concentrate and work with that noise.

Apologies for the delay in responding...
It seems that we have some fans that are louder than expected or making abnormal noises...
To address these concerns for customers who have experienced these symptoms, we are releasing an updated fan design that will be quieter and will have a new FRU (service) part number.
Existing fans FRU 04X1853 / 04X1854 are all not inherently "bad" but to ensure consistency, we generally introduce updated parts with a new p/n.
We are working with service to get these in stock and will also provide appropriate communication to service to ensure these are used to address noisy fan concerns. Orders for fans will be filled with the uplevel parts automatically once available.
I would recommend that you defer service until the updated parts are available (soon).
I'll update here once they are confirmed available. .

Why would IBM Switzerland only be bale to get FRU 04X1853? Are the parts limited to regions?

Yes, there are two fans for the T440p, take a look at the parts list: http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/t440p_fr
One seems to be for models with iGPUs, and one for models with dGPUs. Both fans are from the same manufacturer. So, depending on which model you have, there really is only one fan available.

There would only be one correct fan depending on which graphics config you have.
There will be two new equivalent parts - these are not yet in stock (I've checked today) but the teams are working on it.

Just to be clear: Once you tell us the new fans are available, all new orders of T440p-CTO-models will have the a new fan inside?

In light of this I have canceled my request for replacement or refund.

will hence in lenovo online store ordered t440p machines already be equipped with the new fan model?

Well first obviously we have to wait until the new parts are in stock - which Mark will surely tell us. ![]()
And if your machine is covered under warranty it will be replaced free of charge for sure. Maybe Lenovo will even allow out of warranty T440p machines to get a fan replacement - but i doubt it will take that long for the fans to be available!
