I recently purchased a T400 with a 14.1" WXGA LCD screen -- I would like to replace it with a 14.1" WXGA+ screen. Has anyone done this before -- or know if it's possible?

You can easily change out the WXGA panel with a WXGA+ as long as you don't change it from a CCFL to a LED backlit panel. The LCD cable is the same for both the WXGA and WXGA+ panel CCFL baclit LCD.
If you want to change it out to a WXGA+ LED backlit LCD, you will also need it's respective LCD cable, as it is different than the cable for the CCFL backlit LCD.

Great links -- thanks for the quick response. Is there an easy way to differentiate between CCFL and LED? My specific model number is 6474 WZJ.
Also, can you switch a WXGA LED LCD to a WXGA+ LED LCD?

You currently have a 14.1" WXGA, CCFL backlit LCD panel installed on your T400 as detailed here.
Currently there are no part numbers for the WXGA LED backlit panels, so I wouldn't know how to answer your second question.

Great, thanks again. Does the link you posted explicitely say "CCFL" -- or is that noted by the lack of "LED" specification?
I will make sure that the replacement LCD I buy is a CCFL.

That is correct. The lack of "LED" specification indicates it is in fact a CCFL backlit panel.
If purchasing a replacement LCD panel on fleebay or the likes, I would highly suggest you make your purchase based on the FRU replacement part number.
Note: If you replace the LCD panel, you will void your warranty. Always keep this in mind.
